Blood donation camp at Lifeline Hospital Sohar

Lifeline Hospital, in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Ministry of Health Sohar, organized a blood donation camp on Thursday, 28th of May 2015 at our Sohar branch. More than 30 pints of blood were collected during the occasion.

Blood Bank relies on a steady supply of blood from healthy donors. Cancer, surgery and trauma patients and anaemic patients require blood / platelet transfusions. Patients with severe sickle cell disease need blood transfusions every month.

During the month of Ramadhan, blood bank often faces shortage of blood. Realizing this problem, Lifeline team rallied around to mobilize donors among the staff members and contact base and thus lend support to MoH.

Mr. Nousheer Alam, hospital manager, stated that this is a noble cause and all healthy individuals should consider blood donation as an opportunity to serve the local community. He was also happy to note that several of the staff members were regular donors.

Officials of the blood bank thanked Lifeline Hospital for organizing this event.
