Dr. Abdul Rauf with more than 34 years of experience in medical profession graduated from Army Medical College in Pakistan and was later actively involved in clinical and epidemiological research in close collaboration with US Armed Forces Health Department in PULSE Research Centre Army Medical College, Rawalpindi.
He has worked for two years as medical instructor in Regional Training Institute, Federal Ministry of Population Welfare, and Pakistan. He has also served in Punjab Government Health Department and CDA Hospital (surgical unit), Islamabad.
Dr. Rauf has worked for more than 21 years in MOH Oman as senior medical officer in accident & emergency, general, diabetic, internal medicine and paediatric OPDs, CDSCs (Communicable Disease Surveillance and Control Centres) in Sohar. Additionally, he has also served as MOIC of various health centres and primary level hospitals in different wilayats of Oman and was actively involved in many community health promotion campaigns.
Dr. Rauf holds Diploma in Diabetology and Endocrinology from Baqai Institute of Diabetology and Endocrinology in Pakistan and MBA in Health Management from Preston University in Islamabad, Pakistan. He has passed part 1 of MRCGP International (UK) examination. He is a member of the College of Family Medicine in Pakistan.
He has published research papers on viral hepatitis and typhoid fever in American Journal of Tropical Medicine.
